    Is laser tattoo removal painful?

Many of our patients say it feels the same as when they had the tattoo put on. The discomfort is usually minimal. Prior to treatment we will generally numb the area with an ice pack. We will then use the Zimmer cryogenic device which, unlike other inferior cooling methods, cools the skin prior to, during and after laser tattoo removal treatment for maximum comfort and effectiveness. The Zimmer is an advanced system that cools the air to -32°C and is aimed over the treatment area to numb the skin for the most comfortable treatment. After treatment, you can go about virtually all of your regular activities while protecting and caring for the treated area like a cut or a blister until it has fully healed. The better care you take of yourself, the better results you’ll receive.

If you want to experience what it feels like, while we never offer free trials of treatments, we do offer a "test pulse". Using the laser settings which (based upon your particular factors) we would be most likely to start your treatments with, you could experience 2 or 3 laser pulses. It would not possibly be effective at hair removal, and laser settings do increase, but it would at least give you a sense of how a treatment would feel. For a test pulse, you must still follow the pre-treatment instructions found here, because they are not only for safety, but also affect your skin's sensitivity.

How many treatments will I need?

Your specific immune system, the type of ink used and several other factors will dictate the number of treatments required. Our True Laser® works with your body to break down the ink and the average immune system requires 10 weeks to remove the broken-down ink particles. The number of treatments required varies by individual, but most clients need at least 5 treatments. Fortunately, every Body Details treatment package has an all-inclusive price backed in writing by our Free Lifetime Guarantee at no extra cost.

What can I expect after each treatment?

Tattoo ink colors will fade after each successive treatment, but it is not uncommon to see no visible change after the first treatment. In some cases, the tattoo may temporarily appear darker in color because the laser treats the deepest ink first. Fading occurs gradually. Each individual’s immune system filters the ink out at a different rate. When the treatments are completed the skin will look as if the tattoo had never been there. After treatment, care for the treated area like a cut or a blister until it has fully healed. Don’t go swimming and avoid sun or tanning bed exposure. You may schedule your next treatment 10 weeks later. Your specific immune system, the type of ink used and other factors dictate the number of treatments necessary, but most clients need at least 5 treatments. What guidelines do I need to follow during my ongoing treatment?

During the first 24 hours following a tattoo removal treatment, please:
    • Minimize strenuous activities.
    • Apply an ice pack as often as possible.
    • Keep the treated area protected and elevated when possible.
After the first day and until the treatment area is visibly healed, please:
    • Use a moisturizing cream such as aloe or hydrocortisone.
    • Do not pick scabs or pop blisters (scarring is most often a result of poor wound maintenance which can also lead to infection).
    • Avoid swimming.
    • Steer clear of sun exposure and tanning beds.
    • Allow 10 weeks between treatments.

How much does laser tattoo removal cost?

Many variables go into providing you with the most bang for your buck, so we encourage you to get a fast, free virtual consultation to get a better idea of how much it will cost to remove your tattoo. For example, the bigger your tattoo, the less it costs per square inch to remove it. We also take into consideration areas of your tattoo where there is no ink and we charge less for lightly shaded areas because they are easier to remove. Call 866-708-8645 to schedule your free virtual consultation now.

Why do you have all-inclusive package prices rather than pay-per-treatment prices?

Because we know it will take you more than one treatment to remove your tattoo. By offering a package price, we give you the most bang for your buck – especially when your results are backed in writing by our exclusive Free Lifetime Guarantee at no extra cost. Plus, a package deal makes it easier to keep you on track with your treatments and helps guarantee that your tattoo will be gone forever. Everything You Need to Know About Laser Tattoo Removal at Body Details

At Body Details True Laser® Centers we use Syneron Candela’s PicoWay Resolve laser. It is the best medical tattoo removal laser in its class. The Pico Way Resolve has a multi-wave design that allows it to treat all skin types and ink colors. It is safe and effective for any skin where you are likely to have a tattoo: the body, face, scalp, etc.

If you are unsure about a tattoo located in a sensitive area, schedule a free, no-obligation consultation at a Body Details True Laser® Center near you. We can examine your tattoo and discuss any concerns you may have.

About Our Laser Tattoo Removal Process

The Pico Way laser works by directing short, directed light pulses at the skin where the trapped tattoo ink is. The energy from the laser superheats these pigments and breaks them down, so they lose their chromatic properties. The Pico Way Resolve laser operates with both 1064 nm and 532 nm wavelengths. The color of the tattoo ink determines the wavelengths that we use. The 532 nm wavelength is effective for red, yellow, and orange, and the 1064 nm is recommended for black, brown, green, and blue ink. The ink particles are easily dispersed by the body.

What You Can Expect with Our Laser Tattoo Removal Service

At Body Details, we want you to make the right decision for you. We recognize that you might have some reservations about removing your tattoos, which is why we offer a free consultation. During this initial consultation with a medical professional, we will examine the size and coloring of the tattoo, as well as your skin type. We will then determine a timeline for the removal timeline. This is your opportunity to ask questions about your treatments.

    Tattoo Removal Frequently Asked Questions

Many of our tattoo removal clients have the questions you do. If you don’t see the answer to your question here, schedule a free initial consultation where you can ask our medical professionals questions specific to your tattoo removal. You’re under no obligation to purchase a service.

How Long Does a Laser Tattoo Removal Session Take?

This depends on the size of the tattoo, the color of the ink(s), and other factors. A smaller tattoo may only take 15 to 20 minutes. Larger tattoos may require more sessions since we may have to work on different sections of the tattoo.

What Should I Do Before and After My Tattoo Removal Session?

Our Body Details laser technicians will go over the dos and don’t during your initial consultation, but the key things to avoid are:

    • Tanning in the sun or via machines prior to your appointment and for a few days after.
    • Makeup or creams on the treatment area before and after treatment.
    • Hot showers, baths, steam rooms, and saunas for 24 hours after the treatment.
    • Swimming for a few days after the treatment.

You should also discuss any medications that you’re on with your laser technician. Certain types of medicine can affect the efficacy of the lasers or increase the chances of skin damage.

What Kind of Medical Training Do Laser Techs Have?

At Body Details True Laser® Centers, all of our laser technicians are either physician assistants (PA) or advanced practice registered nurses (APRN). All facilities are overseen by a dermatologist or a cosmetic surgeon. Additionally, laser technicians are certified for each apparatus that they use. By setting these highest standards, we can ensure the safety of our patients.

What Happens if I Can Only Afford One or Two Treatments?

Body Details has all-inclusive packages to ensure that you will be able to continue your sessions until your tattoo is gone. With generous financing terms and flexible scheduling, there’s no reason not to schedule your free, no-obligation consultation. Call one of our more than 20 Florida locations to get started.
