How True Laser® photofacials are performed

A photofacial at Body Details is performed by using our Picoway Resolve laser to improve the appearance of the skin. Our licensed laser technicians are able to reduce signs of imperfections by sending high levels of energy into the layers of the skin. By targeting areas where skin damage has occurred, we are able to make your face smooth and flawless.

What Our Photofacials Treat

At Body Details, our photofacial treatments are the ideal solution for reducing the signs of skin imperfections. Designed to reduce redness as well as the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, this noninvasive procedure enhances skin quality by improving texture and elasticity.

Body Details photofacials can treat:

  • Wrinkles
  • Scars
  • Acne marks
  • Fine lines
  • Rosacea
  • Age spots
  • Large pores
  • Loose skin
  • Skin elasticity
  • Broken capillaries
  • Sun spots

How photofacial treatments work

Our photofacial treatments target damaged skin cells in the deep layers of the skin. These layers of the skin can be reached by emitting stronger wavelengths.  Damaged skin cells are the cause of most skin imperfections, as the improper healing of the skin is what leads to scars, blemishes, sun spots, and more. During photofacial treatments, the skin cells causing these imperfections are targeted by creating microscopic damage to the area. The body then naturally creates new skin cells in order to heal the damage, ultimately creating new layers of the skin without imperfections.

Wrinkles, on the other hand, are caused by the loss of collagen produced by our bodies as we age. Typically, collagen production will slow down when we reach our thirties, and it will eventually stop altogether. The loss of collagen over time will result in loose skin, poor elasticity, and age spots. This doesn’t have to be permanent, however. As a natural protein, the body will send signals to produce more collagen when an injury occurs. It’s for this reason that the microscopic wounds created by photofacial treatments instigate collagen production, giving your skin back its youthful appearance and tightness.

Benefits of photofacials at Body Details

Fast results

Most of our clients show results after just one photofacial treatment. After any irritation fades you’ll be able to see the reduced appearance of skin imperfections and a more even skin tone. Additionally, with an increase in your skin’s collagen production you’ll appear more youthful and any fine lines and wrinkles you had will fade.

Imperfections continue to fade

Results will continue to improve for several weeks after your treatment, as your skin continues to heal. Having several photofacial treatments done will only help to improve your appearance and the diminishing of any imperfections. They can usually be done every four weeks to continue eliminating wrinkles and fine lines, or they can be done to prevent aging.

It’s fast

Unlike many other skin treatments that offer similar results, a photofacial treatment is done on average in 20 minutes. Depending on the size of the area being treated, you can even be done in as little as 10 minutes. Most people get their photofacial treatments done on their lunch break or in the morning before work.

There’s no down time

Another photofacial benefit is that it’s a noninvasive procedure. Since the wounds it leaves on your skin are microscopic, you can walk right out of the laser clinic without any obvious signs of the procedure. This means there’s little or no down time, as most clients don’t experience any side effects. Those who do will show signs of slight swelling, redness, and the sensation of a slight sunburn, which only lasts for several hours after treatment.

Customized treatments

As part of the True Laser standards we’ve created, all of the laser procedures performed at Body Details are customized for each client. Our medical licensed laser technicians take into consideration several factors that could affect a client’s results including skin color, sensitivity, and current skin conditions.
