How photofacial treatments work
Our photofacial treatments target damaged skin cells in the deep layers of the skin. These layers of the skin can be reached by emitting stronger wavelengths. Damaged skin cells are the cause of most skin imperfections, as the improper healing of the skin is what leads to scars, blemishes, sun spots, and more. During photofacial treatments, the skin cells causing these imperfections are targeted by creating microscopic damage to the area. The body then naturally creates new skin cells in order to heal the damage, ultimately creating new layers of the skin without imperfections.
Wrinkles, on the other hand, are caused by the loss of collagen produced by our bodies as we age. Typically, collagen production will slow down when we reach our thirties, and it will eventually stop altogether. The loss of collagen over time will result in loose skin, poor elasticity, and age spots. This doesn’t have to be permanent, however. As a natural protein, the body will send signals to produce more collagen when an injury occurs. It’s for this reason that the microscopic wounds created by photofacial treatments instigate collagen production, giving your skin back its youthful appearance and tightness.

Results will continue to improve for several weeks after your treatment, as your skin continues to heal. They can usually be done every four weeks to continue eliminating wrinkles and fine lines, or they can be done to prevent aging.
Unlike many other skin treatments that offer similar results, a photofacial treatment is done on average in 20 minutes. Depending on the size of the area being treated, you can even be done in as little as 10 minutes. Most people get their photofacial treatments done on their lunch break or in the morning before work.
There’s no down time
Another photofacial benefit is that it’s a noninvasive procedure. Since the wounds it leaves on your skin are microscopic, you can walk right out of the laser clinic without any obvious signs of the procedure. This means there’s little or no down time, as most clients don’t experience any side effects.
