Nature Centers and Parks in Wellington, Florida

Is there a better time to go out and enjoy nature than the summer? Everyone’s out and about enjoying the sunshine (or at least using the season as an excuse to do so), and Wellington’s parks and nature centers are the perfect way to enjoy all that nature has to offer.

Of course, if you’re going out to the park this summer, you’ll probably be wearing shorts to keep cool. There’s no better way to get ready for showing off some skin than with laser hair removal in Wellington at Body Details. With laser hair removal, you can have smooth skin and not worry about shaving anymore.

When you’re out and about this summer, be sure to visit these nature centers and parks in Wellington:

1. Tiger Shark Cove Park

13800 Greenbriar Blvd, Wellington, FL 33414

Open from dawn to dusk, Tiger Shark Cove Park is a great place to get out and enjoy the sunshine. There is a large ocean-themed playground for the kids to enjoy, designed by the community and built by volunteers. The playground includes a Tiger Shark play sculpture, swing sets, a sunken pirate ship play area, a sand castle, a submarine with portholes, a crab shack, obstacle courses, shaded areas, and soft, rubberized flooring.

There’s also an athletic center with two batting cages, four softball fields, three pavilions, and a concession stand. During the week, the pavilions can be used at no cost on a first-come, first-served basis. Rentals are required for weekend use.

2. Peaceful Waters Sanctuary

11676 Pierson Rd, Wellington, FL 33414

For a day where you can really enjoy nature, be sure to visit Peaceful Waters Sanctuary. Local wildlife can be found throughout the park, including otters, spoonbills, white pelicans and much more. It’s a great place to just relax and unwind in the shade. You can also explore the sanctuary on the many trails that go throughout the park. Perhaps best of all, this 30-acre wetlands park is free and usually not crowded at all.

Along the mile of trails and elevated nature walk boards, you will find displays that represent many of the native wildlife and plant species in the sanctuary that are native to Florida. If you love wildlife photography, Peaceful Waters Sanctuary is an ideal location to snap some of the best pictures of your life!

3. Wellington Environmental Preserve at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Everglades Habitat

3491 160th Ave S, Wellington, FL 33470

Of course, Peaceful Waters Sanctuary isn’t the only place in Wellington you can explore nature. The Wellington Environmental Preserve is a part of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Everglades Habitat. This section of the habitat is a 365-acre rainwater storage area. Within these 365 acres, you can find plenty of nature trails and learning centers. There is also a 3.6-mile long equestrian trail that is an extension of the larger 65-mile Wellington equestrian Bridle trail system.

There are plenty of varieties of flora and fauna throughout the park, and lots of benches to sit and enjoy wildlife. It’s an out-of-the-way, quiet retreat for you to enjoy the best that Wellington has to offer, and if you have kids, they will love walking and biking through the area!
