Miami differs from surrounding cities because it has been heavily influenced by other cultures.
Nicknamed the “Magic City” after it seemingly appeared overnight, Miami began to develop in 1959 – the year Fidel Castro came to power in Cuba, forcing many Cuban residents to flee and settle in Miami. In the 1970s, Haiti and Nicaragua’s governments were overthrown, sending more people fleeing to Miami. Today, Miami has a diversity that few other cities can claim. It’s also one of the most popular tourist spots in the country, making it the ultimate destination for your next vacation. We provide a lavish spot for celebrities to party, for tourists to relax, and for kids to experience something new. The area presents more than a little bit of everything, creating a vacation spot like no other.
Relax Outdoors with the Family
Miami is home to some of the most beautiful parks and beaches, providing a great place for families and tourists to spend peaceful time outdoors. Our white sandy beaches and warm turquoise water will leave you feeling like you’re on a tropical island. You’ll be sure to go home with a tan.
The city features many parks as well. There’s always something going on for you and your family to enjoy on your Miami vacation. We offer kid-friendly festivals with live music, food, games, petting zoos, and more. Our parks also hold supervised sports games that kids can participate in or watch. They’re held indoors on those crummy days that the weather doesn’t cooperate. You’ll easily find fun for the entire family.
Check out the Everglades
Hop on an airboat and look out for alligators in the Everglades as you explore part of the 1.5 million acres of wetland that makes up the southern tip of the state. If you aren’t one for planning, there are plenty of tours that can include lunch and will even pick you up and drop you off at your hotel.
If airboats aren’t for you, Everglades National Park offers other options, such as kayak and bike rentals and even a 65-foot observation tower where you can look for dolphins, turtles, herons, and crocodiles from a safe distance.
Miami Beach Golf Club opened its doors in 1923. Since then, it has been renovated to improve customer experience and catch up with the times. It modernized the golf experience with online tee-time booking and GPS-equipped golf carts.
For those in your group who aren’t a fan of golfing or can’t handle the Miami heat, the club has a full restaurant and bar. Whether you’re there to take a golf lesson or check out the shop, you can’t possibly find a more beautiful place to play a round of golf.
Hit a Club
Miami is home to some of the hottest clubs and as one of the most diverse cities in America, it would only make sense to check out some of its Cuban or Latin dance clubs. What makes Miami so unique is not only its diversity but year-round warm weather that allows us to host all of our parties outdoors.
Miami is known for its luxury shops, many of which are located in the Aventura Mall. The third largest mall in the United States has three floors, over 300 retailers, and more than 20 places to eat. While it isn’t the Mall of America, it’s home to some of our favorite department stores, including Macy’s. With so many great places to shop, you’ll be able to find the perfect outfit for your night out in Miami. By the end of your shopping spree, you won’t even look like a tourist anymore!
Try the Local Cuisine
With over 1.2 million Cuban residents in the Miami area, it would be a shame to visit and not try some of our Cuban food. Spend the day in Little Havana where you’ll be immersed in Cuban-American culture, including some of the city’s most well-known restaurants. Additionally, you’ll find a ton of mom-and-pop shops, museums, and theaters that will give you insight into the fantastic diversity Miami offers. Stroll past the walls covered in colorful murals and smile at some of the elderly men playing dominoes on the street as you stop to take in the heavenly scent of Cuban coffee. You’ll find fruit stands, art galleries, cigar shops, and more to keep you and your family entertained for the day.
Find a Spa
Miami considers health and well-being to be of the utmost importance. As the city of all things luxury, it should come as no surprise that it has some of the country’s most rejuvenating spas. You’ll be able to find one that offers practically anything you’re looking for, including ocean views. Skip the facials and massages and instead try rain tunnels, eucalyptus-infused steam rooms, Tahitian body scrubs, and Ayurvedic treatments.
If you’d prefer to pamper yourself in other ways, Miami is full of nail salons, beauty parlors, and even laser hair removal clinics that will ensure you’ll be beach and club ready for your entire stay.
As the colder months approach, Miami will make the ideal getaway. We guarantee you’ll never be bored.
