LASER HAIR REMOVAL
Factor III: Treatment Protocol
Once the correct device using the correct wavelength on the correct skin type is being used the next critical factor is treatment protocol.
What is treatment protocol?
Put simply, treatment protocols are the instructions on how to perform a medical procedure. In laser hair removal, these instructions specify technical settings on such things as spot size, fluence & pulse duration, as well as many other things that are other factors that will determine the effectiveness of the procedure.
It is important to understand that unlike most other medical procedures, there is no one universally accepted treatment protocol for laser hair removal. All treatment protocols that are currently used for laser hair removal come from one of two sources: either they are the recommended protocols from the manufacturer of the equipment themselves or it is created through a research & development division of the actual company providing the treatment.
Treatment protocols produced by laser manufacturers
Because of legal and technical limitations and/or restrictions that laser manufacturers must abide by, the treatment protocols produced by laser companies are generally not made with the idea of being the most effective in mind. As discussed earlier IPL and other class II devices, regardless of protocols, do not have the technical ability to produce anything more than hair reduction. They simply don't produce enough energy to permanently remove hair. The laser's utilized by Body Details are Class IV lasers that do produce enough energy for permanent hair removal but it is the protocol, the proper application of this energy that ensures results. Manufacturer treatment protocols are generally designed to provide the manufacturer protection from lawsuits and are created with settings that are rarely optimal for providing effective treatment results. At best, manufacturer recommendations are an initial guide or outline for the design of a truly safe and effective permanent result producing protocol.
Treatment protocols produced through provider research
The second way treatment protocol is created is by the provider themselves. The provider spends a significant amount of money and time to create there own legally protected protocol for exclusive use. Body Details chose this method because it guarantees the best possible results for you the patient as the protocols can be tested and proven by the Body Details panel of specially trained medical professionals who are chosen under our very strict guidelines of professionalism and expertise. This method of creating treatment protocol is rarely used because it requires a great expense on the part of the provider due to the necessity to: hire a team of doctors and medical experts, conduct in-house research & development, spend months and sometimes years to create and test a treatment protocol, and to repeat the process as new medical studies and research is published to industry professionals.
Body Details was created to advance cosmetic medicine in the areas of laser hair & laser tattoo removal and having such a research team is already an integral part of our business model. Because of this we have created a treatment protocol that is clinically proven to be the most effective and we will continue to conduct research that will continuously improve our treatment protocol as we search for more effective ways to permanently remove unwanted hair. You can rest assured that Body Details prides itself in offering the most advanced medical protocols formulated from the most current research and findings available in the laser hair removal industry.
